another ear infection, that is! My little ears are tired of this and mommy tells me she doesn't like to put me on these antibiotics all the time. Mommy and I have both lost track of how many ear infections I have had since December. I went to see Grandma & Grandpa this past weekend and on Friday I was a little fussy but she thought it was because I wanted out of my carseat. But on Saturday all I wanted to do was cuddle with Grandma, I know she didn't like to see me in discomfort but she really liked it that I was in a cuddly mood. :) I slept from 11:00-1:00 and then Grandma fed me lunch and then all I wanted to do was cuddle so she put me back in my pack-n-play and I slept from 2:30-4:00. I woke everyone up a lot during the night but I couldn't help it because my ears hurt but I couldn't tell anyone that's what was wrong. By Monday mommy knew what was going on so she took me into the doctor Monday night and he confirmed it, so back on the meds. I successfully went three weeks without any drugs!! So my doctor is sending me on to an ENT doctor and I see him next Thursday. Mommy thinks I'll probably end up with tubes but were praying I don't have to have surgery. I will update everyone next week what the doc says.
UPDATE: We saw the ENT today and the doctor said that Isaac is at low risk concerning his ear infections so we are going to wait it out for 2 months then we have a follow up. As of now looks like he won't be needing surgery! Thank you to all of you who were praying about this!

Not a good day for daddy!
So I thought I would use this blog to post an interesting story that developed during the night. For the last month or so Gary has been very busy working at the Des Moines Airport putting the footing in for a maintanence hangar for Mesaba Airlines. We have not seen Gary much this past month, and there have been a lot of late nights and early mornings. Gary was very excited to be done with this job. Infact, Gary just finished his work at the jobsite last night and he was so relieved it was over and that he was going to be moving on to a new job. That was last night...
Well last night we had some pretty bad weather around the Des Moines/Central Iowa area. At about 6:00 am this morning I felt a couple taps and woke up to see Gary at the side of my bed. He said, "So you'll never believe what happened last night. I was just eating breakfast and all of a sudden my jobsite comes on the news and my jaw just dropped. There was 60-70 mph winds last night at the airport and the whole Mesaba hangar that I've been working at for the last month plus was completely blown over. So everything the steel workers have been working on, everything I've been working on was just done in vain. It's a total loss, you should come down and see the pictures."
What happened was last night at about 10:00 pm the steal started buckling and then the whole structure collapsed. Gary has been down at the site all morning meeting with the engineers and city officials and he said that there is steal beams that were blown about 20 feet from were they originally were and he said there was 2-in anchor bolts that were completely snapped. The good new is that Gary's work held up and it did exactly what it was suppose to do, the bad news is that the structure has now been weakened so they have to rip it all up and start from new. Here are some pictures of his jobsite, I am hoping to find better ones. Click here to go to a news story about it.

Growing up Fast
Can you believe that I am already 15 months? My mom can't believe how fast I am growing up. Yesterday I had my 15 month well check visit. Dr. Brink says that I am developmentally doing great and that even though I haven't gained much weight since December he says I am growing just fine. I weighed 21 lbs, I'm 31 inches tall and my head is 18 3/8 inches. A year ago I was in the 75th percentile for weight but now I am in the 5th percentile. He said I am just a tall skinny little boy. I had my shots yesterday too and I didn't like them at all! With tears flowing from my eyes I looked at mom with dispair and wondered how she could do this to me. But mommy had tears in her eyes too, thank goodness the nurse was quick.
Here's just a picture of me sitting on the couch, I love to walk around and play on the couch. Mommy tries to take pictures of me all the time but I am too quick for her camera. In fact I am very quick at everything I do these days. I'm close to being able to climb up on the couch by myself. I try really hard but my legs are just a little too short still. But I figured out the other day how to get in the bathtub on my own. Mom was giving me a bath the other day and she turned around for one second to get my towel and when she turned around to put me in the tub she was suprised to find my legs in the air and my hands in the tub. She still has no idea how I did that. I'll leave you with some pictures of me and daddy swimming at the pool. We all went to the pool this past Sunday and I had so much fun. They both took me down the slide and I laughed the whole way. I really enjoyed walking in and out of the water.

Blueberry Bandit
Isaac is a pretty good eater but one thing is for sure he loves his fruit, and he especially loves his blueberries. Isaac and Gary have this thing they do when they eat, but Isaac has become very tricky in his ways. When Isaac is eating he will sometimes hold out his food to share with us, infact he is graciously sharing his broccoli with Gary as I write this. Sometimes this is how we get him to take a bite of something he's never tried, our hope is that if he sees us eat it then he will eat it. It's not exact science, but anyways the other day Isaac was eating blueberries (the one food I am guarateed he will eat!)and he held one out to Gary like he was going to share and Gary was surprised that Isaac was going to share because most of the time he has them devoured in less than 2 minutes. So Gary got closer to Isaac so he could put a blueberry in Gary's mouth and he had this very mischevious grin on his face and he kept reaching out to Gary until he had the blueberry almost in Gary's mouth then he started laughing and quick put it in his mouth. Gary kept trying to get him to share but Isaac would trick him every time, just when you thought he was going to give it up he quick put it in his mouth. I didn't think a 15 month out could be so tricky, but then again we are noticing in a lot of things that he does that Isaac is a good problem solver so far. It definatly was a good laugh at the end of the day, we always love those times!

The word of the day
The word that is running through my mind over and over again is "nnnn-no" that is the word of the day, rather maybe the word of the week! This would not be my word but Isaac's; this has begun to be all that he says these past couple of days. And it's not just "no" but "nnnn-no". He says it to everything, sometimes in the right context, but mostly not. Yesterday he stood in front of the window pointing for about 5 minutes saying over and over "nnnn-no" and again in our car ride across town the whole way was "nnnn-no". It is very funny and cute but sometimes when it keeps going on and on it can kindof sound snotty. He has definatly kept us very entertained this last week, the noises and sounds that come from him are more boy than he had already been showing us. On Friday I watched my friends daughter who is 2, and Isaac was a little too crazy and wild for her. She was not at all impressed by his noises and sounds. He was running all over the house making all these crazy noises that kept scaring her. She eventually warmed up and was okay as long as she stayed close to me and Isaac kept his distance.
This past week we have also been working on sign language, we have been doing eat for awhile and he finally will do it and we also learned more and all done and he uses them when I ask him. This week we are working on please and thank you. It's nice that he can tell me somewhat what he wants now instead of just pointing. He was playing on his own the other day and when I looked over he was doing the eat sign without me asking if he wanted to eat.
Here are some other pics from this week and the past few weeks.

For a couple of days Isaac walked around with his tongue hanging out all the time. After about a day of this I finally figured out that he had a sore on his tongue, I think he some how bit his tongue. Once that sore went away, the tongue finally stayed in the mouth!

This is Isaac's new trick. He's always in this position, he loves it when we peak between his legs, he just busts out laughing. His latest thing is that he will do this handstand thing and try to pick up one leg, you can kindof see that in the picture.

Last week someone from church gave us this balloon and it's been Isaac's favorite 'toy' this week. He loves to pull it down very quickly and watch it float back up and then do it all over again and again.

This last week we went to the pool and then splash park a couple of times. He liked the pool but then after awhile he kept crying, I think he just got cold so I wrapped the towel around him and he sat on the chair with me and snuggled for about 20 minutes. It was such a beautiful week to be outside!
This was at Splash Park, it's just a park that has a bunch of fountains, but no pool. He really liked this fountain, but it goes down all the way and then comes back up and gets higher and higher and then starts over again. Isaac didn't have that figured out so he did get a surprise in the face once. That didn't make him too happy.
I was talking with my friend that went to Splash Park with us and I knew Isaac had walked behind us and was playing, so I turned around to see what he was doing and he had crawled up onto this chair on his own and was just hanging out watching everyone. He sat there for about 15 minutes and didn't even move, it was so cute, I don't think I have ever seen him stay in the same position for that long since he's become mobile.

Our little cheeky monkey!
Isaac loves to play with the pots and pans in this drawer but this is the first time time he decided to get in. He just opened the door and then he figured out how to crawl in, he sat in there and played for a couple minutes and then got up and walked out, shut the door and went off playing with something else.

Catching Up!
So my mom has been slacking on updating all the things that I do so I thought I would give you an update of the past few weeks! I started not to feel very well starting last Wednesday; I had a fever of almost 102 but then it went away and came back and I really had my mom guessing what was going on. So yesterday I was just absolutely crabby and had a meltdown and tantrum about almost everything that happened so she was starting to wonder who this kid was. My mom took me to see Dr. Brink today and he said I had another ear infection so we are back on antibiotics. :( I seem to be a little happier but my mom can tell that I am still not feeling myself. She thinks my 1st year molars may be coming in as well so that might also be another reason why I am cranky.
I decided to really start to push my moms buttons but she is trying really hard to be patient with me since she knows I can get frustrated because I can't tell her what I want. I really like to play in the bathroom and take everything out of the cupboards so whenever mom goes in the bathroom I go in there as quick as I can but sometimes she takes me out so I can't play in there and I get really mad and stomp my feet and stand by the door and scream and cry. Today she went and put locks on all the cupboards I get into and I really had a problem with that and I let her know it!
Last week my mom and dad started chouffering me around in a van and I really like it because I can see out the window. They can tell I like it because I don't hum out of bordom during the whole car ride. Check me out in my new ride.

I've had a lot of fun playing with friends this past week, we had a play group one day and then mom took me to the play area in the mall with Ashley & Tyler. Mom thinks one of these days she's going to have to take me to the ER because I have no fear of anything. This past weekend was the best weekend so far this spring because my daddy was finally able to go to the park with me and mom. I had so much fun and I loved having daddy push me in the swing and take me down the slide. On Memorial Day weekend they also took me to the zoo for the first time. I liked the goats and the giraffes but mainly I was just there to walk around I wasn't so concerned about the animals. Mom took a lot of pictures of me this last month so if you want to check out all my cute pictures you can click here and go to album spring 2007.
